Step 7: Protosite. The design for the site coded for use in browsers.

The protosite is the first draft of the website put into html or php code. Each page follows the design guidelines established in the visual dsign. The navigation follows that established in the information architecure plan for the site.

Essentially you are creating a template page with styles and colors that are controlled by a style sheet and re-using that basic page for the other pages of the site. This ensures consistency. Text, including keywords, and images for all of the other pages are then added.
